“My work invites viewers into a world where lived experiences, memory, and perception intertwine, encouraging them to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary."

Born in Naples in 1986, Acri lives and works between Naples
and Milan. His artistic career is a testament to the fluid blending of
technical skill and imaginative exploration. After studying Furniture Design at the Politecnico di Milano and Architecture at Federico II University in Naples, Acri spent two formative years in Vienna working with BEHF Architects. In 2016, he co-founded FADD Architects in Naples, further expanding his creative horizon.

Can you spot Little Red Riding Hood?

While Marco didn’t pursue formal education in the arts, his
expertise in architecture and design has profoundly shaped his artistic voice. At the heart of Acri's paintings lies a sense of modular repetition, a patterned grid that draws us in with its reassuring symmetry. But beneath this surface, there is a depth waiting to be uncovered. His work challenges us to look closer, to find the extraordinary within the ordinary, and to see the small, often overlooked, details that give life its richness. Acri’s art is an invitation to appreciate nature’s subtle beauty and to reconsider the narratives that shape our perceptions, all while maintaining a gentle yet powerful political edge.

Each of Marco Acri's paintings holds a hidden meaning beneath their seemingly simple design. At first glance, his collection featuring lines may appear to lack deliberate symmetry in colour, giving off a contemporary and asymmetrical look. However, there is much more to it than meets the eye.

Each line in Marco's work is carefully crafted, often corresponding to a number or letter. By focusing on the lines distinguished by their unique colours, viewers can uncover intricate, thoughtfully constructed messages woven into the composition. This creative exploration transforms what initially seems abstract into a profound and meaningful visual experience.

Marco's art invites us to look deeper, revealing the beauty and complexity behind every stroke, demonstrating that what appears ordinary is actually rich with significance.
